Cannabis Production Technician Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Cannabis Production Technician with a growth mindset to assist our cannabis production team in all aspects of the processing operations. The Cannabis Production Technician is directly involved in manufacturing our products from the initial stages to final sale-ready units that will be distributed to dispensaries throughout the state and ultimately into the hands of our customers. The Cannabis Production Technician is responsible for production of edibles, vape cartridges, pre-rolls and through packaging and labeling of the final product ready for customer sale. This individual will be fully trained on cannabis compliance per the Cannabis Control Commission, production requirements and standard operating procedures (“SOPs”). 

The ideal candidate has a background in cannabis and possesses a growth mindset with the ability to learn various areas of production and an understanding of production needs, efficiency and prioritization. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn all aspects of production including the preparation of vape cartridges, edible, pre-roll infusion, pre-rolls and packaging of all SKUs
• Learn how to operate necessary equipment
• Understand the production schedule and priorities
• Ability to pivot and prioritize production focus based on current needs
• Ability to work in a timely manner, develop efficiencies and increase productivity
• Inspect products for quality during production process
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment including sanitation
• Record product completion logs
• Labeling, stickering, and packaging finished goods
• Receives instructions and assists on tasks as delegated by management team
• Performs other duties as needed by management
• Complies with all CCC requirements and HR policies
• Strict adherence to department SOPs and recipes

Requirements: 

• All applicants must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to get to and from work under own accord and maintain an on time attendance record
• Experience with hands-on production activities
• General knowledge of weights and measurement
• Speed and precision with equipment and attention to detail
• Ability to work alone after instruction without constant supervision
• Ability to multi-task and maintain work consistency on a daily basis
• Strong attention to detail
• Good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to perform
• Ability to manage time in a fast-paced environment to meet goals without sacrificing quality
• Ability to follow instructions and be receptive to feedback/coaching from the management team to maintain product quality
• The job requires physical activity, including prolonged sitting, standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds (or more with a coworker)
• Must be capable of repetitive motions using hands and arms while working with cannabis
• Must be willing and able to wear all mandatory hygiene attire (gowns, hairnets) provided
• Experience with METRC preferred

Compensation and Hours: 

• $18.00 / hour, plus benefits
• This is a full time (7:00 am to 3:30 pm Mon - Fri) position.
